What's with this team not being able to beat teams that are worse than they are? I mean it goes without saying they are incapable of beating top teams like The Cubs, Brewers,etc. But losing to a pathetic team like The Reds, who just traded away their top 2 guns,(who really weren't doing all that much when they were there), is unacceptable. This is a team that not only got swept recently by Colorado,(which The Pirates can sympathise with), but got swept by The Washington Nationals as well. Yes, the owners of the worst record in The National League, The Washington Nationals. Looking at The Reds roster, though, and it's no mystery as to why. Players like Corey Patterson, Javier Valentine, and Paul Bako should not be in any major league lineup, let alone helping to beat your team.(Such as they did tonight.) Jay Bruce hasn't done anything beyond his first 2 weeks in the majors. And Brandon, "My team is a joke, but I'm going to celebrate meaningless HRs' I hit", Phillips is the biggest self involved douchebag in MLB. Reminds me of another overpaid athlete from another pro sports team in Cinci.(Is it something in the water there?) People like those 2 would rather look good and have his team lose, than look bad and have their team win. Says it all. Yet this Pirate Team, who just finished a 10 game road trip 4-6 against 4 teams who are all in contention for a playoff berth in The N.L., can't beat a team who is not only worse they they are, but have given up on the season weeks ago. Great Job! The future is sure looking bright!

To reinforce my point;

-2-5 against Colorado(2008 Series Over)

-3-4 against Washington(2008 Series Over)

-1-3 against San Diego (3 games left @ SD)

So they just managed to lose 2/3 games to the f****** Reds. At home. I don't care if Bay and Nady are gone, you don't need Bay and Nady to beat these choads. Wonderful. And since apparently nobody else is left here,(not that I blame anybody), I'm out.(At least until more than 2 people start posting again.) I'm tired of talking to myself. If that never happens again, it's been fun!

I did not think that the Pirates would lose 100 games this year, but looking at the schedule that they have the rest of the month and the current record, it is possible.

Pitching has been the problem this year as always, and I think that it will probably get better with the trades that Huntington made, but for the rest of this season, it is not looking like it will make a difference. In the Runs Allowed , the Pirates are way up there at the top. think they maybe 2nd in MLB next to Rangers.

When you are giving up that many runs, you better have some fire power to come back with, the Pirates traded the fire power away. SO, even if the pitching does improve over the next year, got to have some offensive weapons to supplement, and they just do not have it.
