The Pirates signing of the two reality game show participants is a down right shameful act. Come on, going into a new market to tap the talent is the excuse they are using. This is an act exactly like signing the midget by Bill Veeck back in the day. If you have had enough of the half brain acts of this ownership and management, stop supporting them. Until these people feel a crunch in the bank account, they will continue to do desperate acts to attract. This one is clear proof that they have lost touch. Neil Huntington stated that the prospects would need 4-5 years of minor league experience before they would be ready for the Major Leagues. This man should be fired on the spot for making such a idiotic statement.
I have an idea, lets bring back the team of 79 for the next season and see how much time they need in the minor leagues to get ready for Major League Baseball. At one point they were ready, but these guys have never picked up a glove before. What a joke the Pittsburgh Pirates have become and it is getting bigger and bigger everyday.

| Consider also that many other scouts from many other teams were there to see the 2 reality stars' pitch, but The Pirates were the only MLB Club to offer them contracts.(At least that's what I heard from one of the writer's on KDKA's "Sunday Night Sports Showdown") Sadly, this story does not surprise me one bit. Shameful indeed. |
